I’m Struggling With Depression and Suicidal Thoughts

I have been struggling with deep sadness for close to two decades, and it has become harder to manage this year. My business is failing, my emotions are overwhelming, and every time things seem to improve, I feel like I am pushed back to square one. I have tried my best to stay strong. I do not use drugs, and I have tried to be kind, loyal, and present for people. But I feel exhausted, isolated, and unable to keep fighting alone. I have been having thoughts of ending my life, and I am scared by how close the end feels. I need support, understanding, and practical advice. If anyone has been through something similar, please talk to me. I will also try to reach someone I trust or a mental-health professional immediately, because I do not want to face this alone.

Please do not judge yourself for returning to square one; setbacks do not erase the effort you have already made.

For today, contact a trusted person and avoid being alone if the thoughts feel urgent. Consider a hospital or mental-health professional for immediate support.
