Why I Believe the Tinubu Administration Is Overwhelmed by Insecurity, Not Sponsoring It

I keep seeing claims that Tinubu’s government is behind today’s insecurity. I disagree with this narrative. The same propaganda was spread by Nnamdi Kanu and his followers, alleging Buhari used Boko Haram to unseat Jonathan. That never panned out in reality. Buhari won in 2015 because President Jonathan struggled to contain Boko Haram. As a retired major general, Buhari appeared more capable of tackling the insurgents. Although Boko Haram was largely defeated and quiet for years, they resurfaced in 2024. Even so, these recent kidnappings are linked to Fulani militias, driven by hardship and unemployment.

Has anyone looked at data on insecurity trends before and after 2023? Are these claims backed by solid numbers?

I'm not convinced we can dismiss every security failure as propaganda. Some of these incidents happened right under the government's watch.

Let's compare regional crime statistics and focus on transparent policing reforms instead of chasing conspiracy stories.
