Emmanuel Ekong’s planned season-long loan from Malmö to Croatian side Hajduk Split collapsed after he did not pass a routine medical. Hajduk pulled out of the deal following local media reports that the 23-year-old striker failed his assessment. Ekong was left out of Malmö’s squad for its recent Allsvenskan match as negotiations were in the final stages. He is now set to return to Sweden while his parent club considers other options before the window closes.
