Nigeria and UK Launch £15m Growth Programme to Drive Economic and Digital Transformation

The United Kingdom and Nigeria have launched a new £15 million Growth Programme to unlock private investment and accelerate economic transformation across key sectors. Unveiled during the recent visit of the UK’s Minister for Africa and International Development, Baroness Jenny Chapman, the initiative highlights the depth of the UK–Nigeria strategic partnership. It will support capital market development, technology investment, small businesses, and provide technical assistance. Alongside this, the UK also introduced SPRIRET under its Digital Access Programme. This initiative will help five Nigerian states reform digital governance, reduce regulatory barriers, and attract investment in broadband, digital services, and emerging technology.
