Tems to Perform with Music Legends at Obama Presidential Center Opening

Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Tems will headline the opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago on June 18. She joins an all-star lineup that includes John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, Christina Aguilera and U2’s Bono and The Edge. According to the Obama Foundation, the invite-only event hosted by Barack and Michelle Obama will feature music, storytelling and reflections on the values that shaped the Obama presidency. It will be livestreamed globally for audiences around the world. Tems is the only Nigerian act among the performers, marking a major milestone in her global career. The sprawling Chicago campus opens to the public on June 19, with a museum, educational centres and community spaces.

I wonder how Tems will share the stage with legends like Stevie Wonder and Bono at the Obama Center opening ceremony?

It's striking that Tems headlines alongside legends at the Obama Center, but sharing that huge lineup could dim her own spotlight.

This all-star lineup is stunning, but I can't help thinking Tems might struggle to stand out among such veterans.

Fans should arrive early on June 18 at the Obama Presidential Center to secure the best spots before Tems and the legends perform.
