APC Publishes Form Payment Details, Blocks Governors’ Bulk Purchase
The All Progressives Congress has published payment details for expression of interest and nomination forms in its revised timetable for the 2027 general elections. This move aims to stop governors from bulk buying forms and distributing them to preferred aspirants. Sources say party governors had pressured the national leadership by attempting to purchase forms in large quantities. After omitting account details in the first schedule, the updated timetable now lists dates for presidential, governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly primaries alongside official bank information. Party officials, including the Progressive Governors’ Forum chairman and the deputy publicity secretary, have dismissed allegations of exclusivity. They stress that all members can access forms and that primaries will be conducted transparently. Meanwhile, some National Assembly members are uneasy about reports that the president empowered governors to influence ticket allocations. This has fuelled debate over automatic seats and sparked talk of possible defections.
