University of Ibadan Kicks Off Interviews for Next Vice-Chancellor
The University of Ibadan has begun interviewing shortlisted candidates for its 14th Vice-Chancellor. Six applicants entered the screening stage—five internal and one external—but one was disqualified, leaving five candidates for interviews. Those on the panel include Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Peter Olapegba, former interim VC Prof. Adebola Ekanola, Prof. Abideen Aderinto and Prof. Yinka Omigbodun. The fifth candidate’s name is still confidential. The successful candidate will serve a single five-year term and take over from Prof. Kayode Adebowale, whose tenure ends on October 31, 2026.
