One Killed, Several Injured in Fresh Attacks Across Benue’s Sankera Axis
Fresh attacks in Benue State’s Sankera axis have left one man dead and several people injured in Ukum and Katsina-Ala local government areas. Community leader James Andoaver said the attacks occurred across several settlements over three days. He alleged that armed herders and local bandits were involved. Utsenda Aber was reportedly killed in Tse-Abali Shor, while his wife sustained serious machete wounds and is receiving treatment. Other residents, including a farmer known as Yellow and Amokaha Koonoon, were reportedly attacked on roads and in nearby communities. Andoaver urged residents to avoid unnecessary night travel and called for urgent security intervention. Katsina-Ala council chairman Justin Shaaku disputed claims of a wider security breach in his area. He said the incident in the council was a robbery in which victims were injured but no one was killed.
