Governor Abiodun Unveils Gateway Airport Upgrade Ahead of London Flights

Governor Dapo Abiodun has revealed an ambitious expansion plan for Gateway International Airport in Ogun State. The project will add a 550-room hotel and a conference centre to boost business and tourism traffic. Cargo operations are already underway with Allied Air, while Ethiopian Airlines and another European carrier are preparing to launch services. The state-owned Gateway Airlines has also acquired two Bombardier CRJ900 jets for enhanced domestic routes to Abuja and other major cities. Air Peace confirms that the runway and technical facilities meet requirements for long-haul operations, paving the way for summer flights to London. President Tinubu recently commissioned the airport, underscoring the federal commitment to improved connectivity. Governor Abiodun says these infrastructure investments will drive commerce, create jobs and position Ogun State as a leading hub for international travel.
