Only 37.5% of Available PVCs Collected Ahead of Osun Governorship Poll

INEC says only 192,702 Permanent Voter Cards, representing 37.5% of those available for collection, have been picked up ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026. The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Osun, Oluwatoyin Babalola, disclosed this at a citizens' town hall meeting in Osogbo. He urged registered voters to collect their PVCs, noting that the card is required to vote. PVC collection began on July 22 at the state's 332 registration areas and will run there until July 28. Collection will then continue at INEC local government offices from July 29 to August 7, including weekends, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The exercise covers newly registered voters, those who transferred their registration, applicants replacing lost or damaged cards, and voters who updated their details. Previously uncollected PVCs are also available for collection.
