Now the government has introduced changes to protect corps members and update the service to today’s realities. Public opinion has shifted in favour of the programme. Some now celebrate the khaki uniform and military drills, even though the military rarely employs graduates after service. Would it not make more sense to replace the three-week drill with a six-week skills training course that boosts employment and entrepreneurship?
