NYSC DG: Corps Members Not Exempt from Cyberbullying and Social Media Laws

NYSC DG: Corps Members Not Exempt from Cyberbullying and Social Media Laws

The NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Olakunle Nafiu, has reminded serving corps members that they remain fully subject to Nigeria’s cyberbullying and social media regulations during their service year. Speaking in an interview with NAN in Abuja, he stressed that corps members retain all rights and responsibilities under the Constitution. Any allegations of online misconduct will be investigated by the appropriate law enforcement agencies, regardless of one’s NYSC status. Nafiu clarified that the NYSC does not provide legal representation for members facing civil or criminal charges arising from social media activities. Instead, the corps works with the Legal Aid Council to monitor any court proceedings.
