Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital Unveils New Hostels and Nursing Complex in 80th Anniversary Celebration
The National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi, Lagos, marked its 80th anniversary by commissioning three major building projects. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Murtala Ibrahim Adegboyega Foundation and Princess Adegoke Orelope donated the patient relations hostel, a 36-unit staff quarters block and the Phase II College of Nursing hostel. In his keynote address, the Minister of State for Health highlighted the milestone’s importance and urged staff to maintain professionalism, compassion, integrity and innovation. A former Lagos State governor praised the hospital as a centre of care and hope, and called on well-meaning Nigerians to sustain its growth. The event also featured an exhibition of the hospital’s products and services. Twenty-one stakeholders, including the NNPC Foundation and representatives of late philanthropists Sir Mobolaji Bank-Anthony and Dr Mustapha Alimi, received awards for their contributions. Management encouraged further partnerships to advance orthopaedic care across West Africa.
