Military Identifies Neutralised Boko Haram Bomb Maker

Military Identifies Neutralised Boko Haram Bomb Maker — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have confirmed the identity of a neutralised Boko Haram fighter as Habba Umar, also known as Bomma. He was a leading improvised explosive device (IED) expert and trainer in the North-East theatre. Security analysts say Umar specialised in both IED and vehicle-borne IED fabrication. He reportedly trained fighters within an enclave around Arena Wuje and coordinated attacks along the Marte-Dikwa axis and Lake Chad basin corridor. Items and electronic devices recovered at the ambush site are under intelligence review to support ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. Military authorities maintain pressure on terrorist networks across the region.
