Ogun Secures $100M Presco Investment to Revive Apoje Farms and Create Jobs

Ogun State Government has announced a $100 million investment by Presco Plc to bring Apoje Farms in Ijebu-Igbo back to life. Officials say this move will boost agricultural output, strengthen food security and generate new jobs across the state. The Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, revealed at a stakeholders’ meeting with the Orimolusi of Ijebu-Igbo that Presco Plc will start operations soon after a formal agreement is signed within the next 30 days. The firm, listed on the Nigerian Exchange with a market value over ₦2.5 trillion, is expected to unlock the plantation’s economic potential and support inclusive growth. Oba Lawrence Adebajo of Ijebu-Igbo praised the partnership and pledged the traditional council’s support. The Agriculture Commissioner also inspected a damaged access road to Solis Agro in Japara, urging the firm to assist with repairs under its CSR plan and to accelerate planting in line with its commitment. Ogun’s administration says strategic private-sector partnerships like this are key to transforming agriculture into a growth engine.
