Tinubu Celebrates Nigeria’s Record 91.45% ICAO Aviation Safety Rating

Nigeria has recorded a historic 91.45% Effective Implementation score in the latest ICAO safety audit under its Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme. This result far exceeds the West Africa regional average of 61.1% and the global average of 70.4%. It showcases strong oversight by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority and boosts international confidence in our airspace. President Tinubu praised this achievement as a key outcome of his infrastructure and transport reforms. The Aviation Minister’s five-point agenda prioritises strict compliance and continuous improvement. The president urged full adoption of all ICAO recommendations to push Nigeria’s rating even higher.
