Need Advice: Which Nigerian State Is Affordable for Relocation?

I’m a man in my 30s from Delta, but I’ve been living in Abuja since 2020. I left my job after graduation and started a POS business during lockdown. Unfortunately, competition around Iyanya has made it unprofitable. Now my rent in Karu has jumped from ₦150,000 to ₦250,000. I can’t afford it and must move before month’s end. Abuja has become too expensive to survive on my current income. Please share your suggestions on which Nigerian state or city offers lower living costs and good opportunities for someone running a small POS business.

Relying solely on rent cost overlooks other relocation expenses like transportation and local taxes that could still strain your POS earnings.

Moving again feels like running from challenges rather than solving root issues in your business model and marketing approach.

Compare average rents and customer demand in Lagos or Port Harcourt, then calculate your break-even before any relocation decision.
