Bruno Guimaraes Submits Transfer Request as Arsenal Prepare £60m Bid

Bruno Guimaraes Submits Transfer Request as Arsenal Prepare £60m Bid

Arsenal have received an informal transfer request from Newcastle captain Bruno Guimaraes. The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder wants to leave this summer for the Premier League champions. The Gunners are preparing a proposal worth up to £60 million despite Newcastle’s “not for sale” stance. Manager Mikel Arteta sees Guimaraes as the ideal addition alongside Declan Rice, Martin Ødegaard and Martin Zubimendi for a title defence. Guimaraes enjoyed a strong World Cup in North America but missed a crucial penalty as Brazil exited in the round of 16. Newcastle face further midfield departures after losing Sandro Tonali to Tottenham, making Guimaraes’s potential departure another blow following a 12th-place finish.

Interesting question. Do you think Bruno's addition shifts our midfield's balance more towards defence or creative play?

Spending up to £60m on a player Newcastle insist isn't for sale seems over the top this summer.

I'm not convinced he'll slot seamlessly into Arsenal's midfield just because of the £60m price tag.

Arsenal might want to structure a phased payment plan to make the £60m fee more palatable to Newcastle.
