Japan Captain Wataru Endo Ruled Out of World Cup, Retires from International Duty

Japan’s captain Wataru Endo has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a persistent foot injury. The 33-year-old Liverpool midfielder announced on social media that he cannot recover in time for the opener against the Netherlands and has decided to retire from international duty.
