Atiku: Nigeria’s Bloodshed ‘Intolerable’ Under Tinubu

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has condemned President Tinubu’s claim that insecurity will not force him from office as disconnected from the suffering of millions. Atiku said true leadership demands compassion, responsibility and concrete action. He argued that the government’s primary duty—to protect lives and property—has been woefully neglected. Since May 2023, more than 10,000 Nigerians have died in violent attacks. These figures represent shattered families and destroyed communities, not just statistics. The recent church attack in Ilejemeje, Ekiti State, underscores the administration’s indifference. He warned that no amount of political rhetoric can rebuild public trust. Atiku urged the government to abandon deflection, acknowledge the crisis and urgently recalibrate its security strategy.
