DSS Arrests Kano Transporter Carrying AK-47s and RPG Tubes

DSS Arrests Kano Transporter Carrying AK-47s and RPG Tubes

Security agents of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Kano intercepted a 30-year-old transporter with three AK-47 rifles, four RPG tubes and two empty magazines. The suspect, Muhammad Abubakar, was on his way to Funtua, Katsina State, when he was arrested in Gezawa Local Government Area following an intelligence tip-off. During interrogation, Abubakar confessed he collected the weapons from “Bello” in Maigatari, Jigawa State. He said he agreed to deliver the cargo for a fee of ₦450,000 but could not recall the recipient’s name, only a phone number. He admitted knowing the arms were intended for robbery and expressed regret over his involvement. The DSS says the suspect will face prosecution and is working with sister agencies to track down his accomplices.

It's interesting that the report mentions RPG tubes yet omits any details about their condition or intended use.
