United Nigeria Cancels Flights After Bird Strike on CRJ-900

United Nigeria Cancels Flights After Bird Strike on CRJ-900

United Nigeria Airlines has warned that some scheduled flights may be cancelled after one of its CRJ-900 aircraft suffered a bird strike on landing in Abuja. The incident occurred on Flight UN0579 arriving from Kano. In line with strict safety standards, the plane has been grounded for full technical inspection and any necessary maintenance. This is the fifth bird strike involving the airline since January. United Nigeria apologises for the inconvenience and reassures passengers that safety remains its top priority.

Absolutely. Adding bird detection radar and boosting habitat management around runways could cut down on strikes.

I agree, bolstering wildlife control around airports, deploying bird-detection radar, and strict runway clearing routines makes sense.

It's surprising that a bird strike on a CRJ-900 can derail multiple flights, even with established safety protocols.

Canceling scheduled flights over a single bird strike seems excessive, they could just swap in a backup aircraft and clear for departure.

United Nigeria should enhance runway wildlife surveillance and partner with specialist teams to minimize delays after unexpected bird strikes.
