Oregon Man with 166 Arrests Receives Life Sentence for Mall Indecency

Oregon Man with 166 Arrests Receives Life Sentence for Mall Indecency

A 41-year-old Oregon man with a criminal history dating back to his teens has been sentenced to life without parole under a state law for repeat sex offenders. In January 2023, Joshua Cory Nealy exposed himself to a store clerk and a security officer at a Portland mall. He then fled with a stolen pair of sunglasses but was arrested the same day by Tigard police, according to a release from the Washington County District Attorney’s Office. Nealy’s record includes attempted rape, robbery, various assaults and failure to register as a sex offender. His defense cited mental health issues and drug use, but the judge applied a statute requiring life sentences for those with two prior felony sex convictions.
