Leverkusen Intensify Pursuit of Nigeria’s Emmanuel Fernandez
Bayer Leverkusen have reopened talks with Rangers over a move for Nigeria international Emmanuel Fernandez, according to recent reports. The centre-back arrived at Ibrox from Peterborough United last summer. He scored five goals and was named Rangers’ Player of the Season after a standout campaign. Borussia Dortmund have also expressed interest, while Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham and Everton are said to be monitoring him. Rangers value Fernandez at around €25 million, up from the £3.5 million they paid last year. Negotiations could gather pace in the coming weeks.
