Nasri Blasts Ref for ‘Punishing’ Arsenal in Champions League Final Defeat

Nasri Blasts Ref for ‘Punishing’ Arsenal in Champions League Final Defeat — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Former Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri has accused the match official of unfairly targeting the Gunners during their Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal took the lead when Kai Havertz scored in the first half. PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé levelled the game in the second half, pushing the contest to a penalty shootout. Speaking on a post-match show, Nasri claimed the referee “systematically whistled against Arsenal” in the second half as payback for their time-wasting tactics earlier. The final ended 1-1 after extra time, and Gabriel Magalhães missed Arsenal’s decisive spot-kick, handing PSG a 4-3 shootout win.

It's interesting how single decisions can turn a final, but referees rarely face the same scrutiny as players.

I'm not convinced Nasri's comments reflect actual unfairness rather than a player blaming the ref after a tough loss.

When officials spark debate like this, teams should review footage for objective analysis before jumping to blame.
