NERDC Cuts Textbook Assessment Fees, Orders Refunds for Publishers

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council has reduced its fees for evaluating and ranking textbooks. Assessment costs now drop from ₦2,000 to ₦1,500 per page, while ranking fees fall from ₦1,000,000 to ₦750,000 per title. Publishers who paid the higher rate will receive refunds for the excess payment. The council will announce the refund procedure soon. These changes take immediate effect nationwide and aim to ease the financial burden on publishers and authors as the Federal Government’s National Textbook Ranking System rolls out.
