FBI Announces $200K Reward for Ex-Air Force Agent Accused of Spying for Iran
The FBI is offering a $200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Monica Witt, a former U.S. Air Force intelligence specialist charged with espionage for Iran. Witt served in the Air Force from 1997 to 2008 and worked as a government contractor until 2010, granting her access to classified defence information. In 2019, she was indicted on counts of transmitting national defence secrets to the Iranian government. Authorities allege Witt defected to Iran in 2013, helping the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps target U.S. personnel abroad. She remains at large and may be using aliases such as Fatemah Zahra or Narges Witt. The FBI urges anyone with knowledge of her whereabouts to come forward and help bring her to justice.
