Is It Possible to Ask a Random Girl for Her Number on the Street?

I was discussing with a friend whether you can approach a random girl on the street and get her phone number. I told him the success rate is about 2% and that social media seems more effective today. I ran a small experiment with and without a car. The results were almost laughable, though it was a fun social test. On campus, I saw classmates attempt this many times with little success. It only worked when girls felt unsafe. So back to you: guys, have you ever succeeded in getting a number at first meet? Ladies, would you share your number in that situation? Let’s hear your experiences and opinions.

What factors do you think affect a stranger's willingness to share their number on the street?

Absolutely, confidence and friendly approach set the tone. If someone feels respected and safe, they'll be more open to share contacts.

I get why you ask, but I think comfort and clear intentions matter more than random street approach.

It's interesting that adding a car barely changed your 2% success rate. Maybe location and timing matter more than props.

I'm not convinced social media is that much more effective if you can't connect in person first. Online replies can be equally flaky.

Try starting conversations around shared interests instead of bluntly asking for a number. Building rapport first might boost that 2% to something better.
