BLORD’s Bail on Self-Recognizance: What It Really Means
Linus Williams (BLORD) is out on bail on self-recognizance after depositing his international passport. He was released on his personal promise to appear in court when required, without any surety or property bond. Handing over his passport restricts his ability to travel for international meetings, deals, and investments. If he needs to travel, he must apply to the court, explain the purpose of the trip, and assure his return. The court may grant or refuse such a request. Bail only allows him to await trial without custody; the case is still active and he remains innocent until proven guilty. He is not an ex-convict, and the matter will continue until a final judgment. A case can end before judgment if the complainant withdraws, parties settle out of court, the prosecution discontinues due to insufficient evidence, or the court strikes it out on procedural grounds.
