What Would a Truly Just and Fair Nigeria Look Like?

I believe markets drive economies and populations drive markets. No region can outperform another if factors like dependency ratio, HDI, and internally generated revenue are equal. Every type of work counts equally, so each state’s revenue should reflect its population and IGR. A fair Nigeria would base federal representation on IGR instead of fixed senatorial seats. It would grant genuine autonomy to all ethnic groups—small or large—mirroring the Midwest’s 1963 example. Local governments could also maintain their own security forces, with private firms allowed full participation. Security posts like the police, DSS, and army would be staffed by locals. No more cross-regional postings designed for colonial control. Even with these changes, major nations like the Yoruba or Hausa might still prefer independent states where their language and culture can thrive. English would remain a foreign language taught in schools.
