How Rural Roads and Water Projects Are Cutting Crime in FCT, Wike Says
The FCT minister says new roads and water schemes in satellite towns and rural areas are helping to reduce insecurity and improve access to farms. He explained that traditional rulers, youth and women highlighted impassable roads as a key barrier to effective security responses. Several road projects in Kuje, Bwari-Kubwa, Dei-Dei and the airport corridors are complete or nearing completion. Water schemes in Kuje, Orozo, Gwagwalada and Dobi are also ready for commissioning, boosting access to potable water in underserved communities. The minister announced plans to review the Abuja Master Plan with its original designers and urged residents to offer constructive feedback. He said the administration will implement policies on the ground, rather than just announce them.
