Retired Gen. Garba Gololo Remanded Over Alleged Cyberstalking of Senate President
A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered retired Major General Garba Gololo to remain in Kuje Correctional Centre after he pleaded not guilty to a seven-count charge. The counts include alleged cyberstalking, defamation and incitement linked to a video and social media posts claiming Senate President Godswill Akpabio demanded northerners vote for President Tinubu in 2027. Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned the case until June 15 for Gololo’s bail application and ordered that he stay in custody pending the hearing. The Senate President’s office has denied the allegations as false and malicious. Gololo’s counsel, Mohammed Habu, represented him at the arraignment.
