Aloma: Super Falcons Poised to Win 11th WAFCON in Morocco and Surprise at 2027 World Cup
Former Nigeria U-20 coach Napoleon Aloma believes the Super Falcons can secure a record 11th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco next year. He described coach Justin Madugu’s 25-player squad as a “crack team” ready to defend the African crown. Aloma stressed that proper motivation is vital. He urged the Nigeria Football Federation and National Sports Commission to fulfil promises and pay allowances, including the $150,000 bonus pledged to each player after their 2025 triumph. Pointing to rapid global growth in women’s football, Aloma highlighted improved structures in Nigeria. He believes a strong domestic league and experienced players based in Europe will help the team surpass their 1999 World Cup quarter-final run at Brazil 2027.
