Liverpool Defender Ibrahima Konaté to Depart on Free Transfer

Ibrahima Konaté will leave Liverpool after five years at Anfield, according to Sky Sports. The 27-year-old centre-back could not agree new contract terms and is set to depart on a free transfer. Since arriving from RB Leipzig, Konaté made 183 appearances and helped Liverpool win a Premier League title, an FA Cup and two Carabao Cups. He has attracted interest from several European clubs and has yet to decide his next destination. Liverpool are already planning reinforcements in defence and midfield. Jeremy Jacquet will join from Rennes, Geovanni Leoni returns from injury, and Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez remain at the back. The club may also seek cover at full-back after Andy Robertson’s farewell.
