Unity in Faith: Embracing the Weak and the Strong
Paul urges believers to accept those whose faith is weaker without quarreling over disputable matters. He reminds us that what one person eats or which day one honors is a matter of conscience before God. Each should be fully convinced in their own mind. Food and observance are for the Lord, whether we eat or abstain. The kingdom of God is about righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit—not rituals. Believers should give thanks to God in all they do. We will all stand before God’s judgment seat and give an account of ourselves. Therefore, stop passing judgment and avoid putting obstacles in a brother or sister’s way. Strive for peace and mutual edification in the community.
