Bill Gates appeared before the House Oversight Committee to deny any knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes. He said he never visited Epstein’s private properties or witnessed wrongdoing. Gates admitted meeting Epstein in 2011 to discuss fundraising for global health. He called that meeting “a grave error in judgment” and said all contact ended by December 2014. The billionaire also alleged that, after they parted ways, Epstein threatened to use details of Gates’s extramarital affairs to pressure him into renewed contact. Gates has strongly denied any illegal activity and said he regrets spending time with Epstein.
