Okpebholo Urges Action to Empower Edo’s Mothers Beyond Words

Okpebholo Urges Action to Empower Edo’s Mothers Beyond Words

Governor Monday Okpebholo extended warm Mother’s Day greetings and highlighted his administration’s commitment to women-centred governance. He described mothers—biological, adoptive, foster and caregivers—as the backbone of families and communities. He outlined the SHINE Agenda’s focus on security, health, infrastructure, natural resources, agriculture and education, noting these investments aim to improve living standards for women and families. He called on all citizens to honour mothers through meaningful support, not just words. The governor also recognised mothers who have endured the loss of children, affirming that their experiences unite communities. He reaffirmed the state’s dedication to policies prioritising women’s welfare, safety and empowerment as essential to sustainable development.
