Tinubu: New Roads and Solar Lights Are Driving Criminals Out of Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has announced that criminal hideouts are gradually disappearing across the Federal Capital Territory. He credited ongoing infrastructure upgrades and enhanced security measures for restoring confidence and social life in Abuja. Speaking at the inauguration of the Collector Road CN2 in Katampe, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, he highlighted that projects go beyond road construction. “We installed solar streetlights. Today, Katampe is safer at night. Abuja’s real life is coming back,” he said. The newly opened CN2 road links Katampe and Mabushi to key transport networks and aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Tinubu argued that better roads will reduce traffic, ease commuting, and boost economic activity. He also praised FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for delivering tangible results, including road expansion, water supply improvements, and judicial facility upgrades, calling him “Mr Project” for his no-excuse approach.

Upgrading infrastructure is welcome but it's hard to imagine road repairs alone can deter entrenched criminal networks across the city.
