My 30-Year-Old Boyfriend Is Jobless, Dependent, and I'm Ready to Walk Away—Am I Wrong?
I’ve been with my boyfriend since we met in school. Three years ago he lost a well-paying job because of debt from loan apps. Since then, he refuses small jobs—even offers of ₦50K—saying he’s unqualified without a degree. He’s applied online for remote work for two years but never hears back. He visits often, contributes nothing, and expects me to cover his expenses. He even asks for airtime refunds or gas money and plans to move states to pursue music. Meanwhile, I graduated, grew my business, bought a three-bedroom house and land. He’s nearly 30 and still living with his parents without any personal growth. I feel guilty but can’t keep supporting him. He’s a nice person but he’s draining my resources. Am I being too harsh for wanting to end this? How would you deal with a partner who’s always taking and never giving?
