ALGON Reaffirms Commitment to Nutrition 774 Initiative After Meeting with Vice President
Deputy National President of ALGON, Hon. (Engr.) Toni Adikibe, reaffirmed the 774 local councils’ commitment to the Nutrition 774 Initiative after meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The visit, led by ALGON National President Hon. Engr. Bello Lawal and other council leaders, aimed to strengthen collaboration with the federal government in reducing malnutrition. Adikibe praised the President and Vice President for centring local governments in public health efforts and highlighted councils as best placed to drive nutrition awareness in every community. He also noted support from Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and pledged to mobilise council chairmen, traditional rulers, women, and youth groups to ensure the programme reaches families nationwide. Both the Presidency and ALGON agreed to deepen cooperation under the Renewed Hope Agenda to improve nutrition outcomes across all local governments.
