Hossam Hassan Slams Refereeing After Egypt’s Last-Minute World Cup Exit

Hossam Hassan Slams Refereeing After Egypt’s Last-Minute World Cup Exit

Egypt coach Hossam Hassan said he won’t watch any more matches after blaming key referee decisions for his side’s defeat to Argentina. Egypt led 2-0 with just 11 minutes left in their last-16 tie before conceding three late goals in a Lionel Messi–inspired turnaround. Hassan claimed his team was denied a clear penalty and had a legitimate goal wrongly ruled out after a VAR check. The coach admitted the loss felt unjust but praised his players for sticking to the game plan. He highlighted that most of his squad plays in the domestic league and still competed with the world’s best. Despite the heartbreak, Hassan urged fans not to lose faith. He said he was proud of the team’s effort and their commitment on the biggest stage.
