Ogun Police Smash Armed Robbery Ring in Ota, Recover Three Stolen Cars

Ogun Police Smash Armed Robbery Ring in Ota, Recover Three Stolen Cars

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two men in Ota after an intelligence-led operation against a notorious armed robbery and vehicle theft syndicate. On May 10, detectives from Ifo Division raided a hideout in Adeleye Area, Itele. They recovered three stolen vehicles – a Toyota Corolla, Toyota Venza and Honda Crosstour – before arresting one suspect at around 10:35 p.m. A follow-up operation on May 11 at the Sango-Ota under-bridge led to a second arrest. The suspect confessed and guided officers to additional exhibits, including live cartridges, foreign currency and electronics. All recovered exhibits are now with the State CID in Abeokuta. The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their swift, intelligence-driven response and pledged continued efforts to safeguard lives and property across Ogun State.

I'm not convinced recovering three cars solves the root challenge if court processes remain slow and convictions hard to secure.

Community members in Adeleye area should promptly report suspicious vehicle movements to Ifo Division, improving real-time intelligence and aiding faster police response.
