ADC Dismisses Rigging Allegations, Urges Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen to Use Party Channels

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has asked former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi and businessman Mohammed Hayatu-Deen to lodge any concerns about the party’s presidential primary through established channels. The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said there is no evidence to support claims of rigging in favour of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. He noted that results are still being collated nationwide and urged patience. Abdullahi also dismissed reports of a parallel faction within the ADC. He affirmed that INEC recognises the current National Working Committee and has monitored all stages of the primary across 36 states and the FCT. He reassured aspirants that internal and statutory mechanisms are in place to handle any complaints once result collation is complete.

Have they actually followed ADC's formal complaints process, or is that just lip service?

The ADC's swift dismissal of rigging allegations contrasts sharply with urging formal channels for complaints.

Sure, ask them to follow procedures, but what if those same channels lack the independence to investigate impartially?

Candidates should document every step of their complaint and request status updates in writing from the party secretariat.
