Lagos State Rolls Out 362 Roads and Major Public Facilities in Infrastructure Drive
The Lagos State Government says it has completed 362 roads covering 347 km since 2019. It has also invested in healthcare, justice, education, public safety and digital infrastructure to support rapid growth. In the last year alone, 130 roads (113 km) were delivered, including the Opebi-Mende Link Bridge, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road in Agege and Abaranje Road in Alimosho. Several sections of the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway corridor and other major roads are awaiting commissioning. Healthcare projects include a 280-bed general hospital in Ojo, a 150-bed children’s hospital and a 1,500-bed psychiatric centre in Ketu-Ejinrin. These developments have already created over 1,300 jobs for residents. The state is also expanding justice facilities and digital services. A new Commercial Court at Tapa is ready for use, while magistrate courts, police quarters and mediation centres are being upgraded. A new data centre and 30,000 km of fibre ducts will boost broadband penetration and smart-city plans.
