Ogun Govt Rejects Viral Claim That Cabinet Members Prostrate for Governor

Ogun Govt Rejects Viral Claim That Cabinet Members Prostrate for Governor

The Ogun State Government has dismissed as false a viral report alleging that members of the State Executive Council are forced to prostrate before Governor Dapo Abiodun when he is displeased. In a statement, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Information described the story as malicious and unverified. He emphasized that no commissioner or the Deputy Governor has ever been asked to kneel or prostrate before the governor. The government explained that a past incident involved local government chairmen voluntarily prostrating in line with Yoruba tradition while seeking forgiveness. Investigations by the State House of Assembly and the Joint Account and Allocation Committee confirmed proper fund disbursement. Citizens have been urged to rely on credible sources and security agencies have been asked to trace those behind the false publication.

Has anyone seen concrete evidence beyond the government's denial about cabinet members prostrating before the governor?

Guess the rumor train has no photo to show; we're stuck riding their denial alone.

Are we sure those official denials address every claim? Something about this sounds off.

I'm not so sure trusting a brief statement solves deeper issues of respect and power dynamics in our politics.

To verify such scandals, we could track primary sources like official press releases or direct quotes before sharing the viral claim.
