US Forces Destroy IRGC Surveillance Tower at Chabahar Port

US forces have struck and demolished the Shahid Kalantari surveillance tower at Chabahar Port on Iran’s Gulf of Oman coast. The installation helped the IRGC track and jeopardize commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz. According to CENTCOM, this action will degrade the IRGC’s ability to target innocent crew members in the vital shipping lane. The operation took place on July 16, and details were released by U.S. Central Command this week.

It seems the demolition of that IRGC tower may create a temporary gap in surveillance, but Iran could quickly replace those capabilities.
