According to recent reports, Real Madrid have lodged formal enquiries and could meet Atletico’s asking price of around €150m. Alvarez netted 20 goals and provided nine assists last season as Atletico finished fourth in La Liga and reached the Champions League semi-finals. The striker is currently with the Argentine national team preparing for World Cup qualifiers. Atletico are expected to consider serious bids when the window opens.
