Barcelona president Joan Laporta has hit back at Real Madrid chief Florentino Perez over his claims that the refereeing investigation led to stolen titles. Laporta called Perez’s remarks “grotesque” and accused him of using Barcelona as a scapegoat to divert attention from Madrid’s two-season trophy drought. He warned that the Catalan club “will react” to any smear campaigns. Speaking at a press conference and as reported by Marca, Laporta said the accusations were a calculated ploy to justify Real Madrid’s recent lack of silverware. He vowed to defend Barcelona’s integrity against further attacks.

Both clubs should advocate for independent refereeing audits instead of engaging in public blame games that distract from on-pitch performance.
