Calling Women ‘Birds’ Isn’t Harmless – It’s Sexist Propaganda
The gender war on women persists when people think calling a woman a “bird” is harmless. On the internet, a “bird” is portrayed as naive and irrational. This stereotype denies women the right to full personhood. Women often face blame for others’ mistakes. Society treats a woman’s choice of partner as evidence of her intellect. A man’s actions reflect only on himself, but a woman’s relationships become public proof of her worth. Many women learn to silence themselves for safety. We calculate every word to avoid judgment. This hypervigilance is exhausting and unfair. A woman deserves to live freely. Trusting, loving, or even being betrayed does not make her foolish. We must reject the “bird” label and recognize women as whole people.
