Arteta Sets Sights on Morgan Gibbs-White for Arsenal’s Summer Reinforcement

Arteta Sets Sights on Morgan Gibbs-White for Arsenal’s Summer Reinforcement — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Arsenal are already plotting their title defence by targeting Nottingham Forest captain Morgan Gibbs-White. Fresh after winning their first league crown in 22 years, Mikel Arteta has made Gibbs-White a priority alongside Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. The England international enjoyed a breakout season, scoring 18 goals in all competitions and finishing as the second-highest English scorer in the Premier League with 15 strikes. His form helped Forest reach the Europa League semifinals. Arsenal face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, but Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has tied Gibbs-White down on a contract until 2028. A move to the Emirates would offer the midfielder a platform to reignite his England career.

I hear you, shoring up the backline looks crucial before splashing on another young midfielder.

Not sure prioritising Gibbs-White over Morgan Rogers makes sense, Rogers offers more speed and versatility in attack.

If Arsenal really want to defend the title, they should focus on locking down a creative midfielder and a reliable centre-back.
